Can you open a PDF whose password I lost?
No. Breaking AES-256 is beyond us, and it is not a service we would offer. Without the password the document stays shut.
Is the password I type sent to you?
No. It is used only in your browser, when encrypting or decrypting. No request carries it.
Is my file uploaded to your servers?
No, and you can check it. Everything runs in your browser. Open your browser network panel while you work: no request carries your document. We cannot read it, keep it, or pass it on.
What exactly does it cost?

What if I am not happy with the result?

What happens if I close the tab, or pay halfway through?
Your document and your work are kept in your browser local storage, on your device. Come back to the page and everything is still there, including after a round trip to the payment page. The button labeled "Erase my document" removes them whenever you decide.
Are there any limits?
No protection bypass: without the password the document does not open, here or anywhere else. A lost password cannot be recovered. We do not know it and cannot give it back. Encryption protects opening the file, not what the reader does once the document is open.
